EMBRACE
Using layers of collage, delicate rice paper, acrylics and pencil, I aimed to capture the essence of embracing new challenges, unveiling a narrative of resilience and growth. Against a backdrop of grey-blue, lilac and cream, a bold, dark black-reddish squiggly line is the visual metaphor for life’s twists and turns, or perhaps embodying two figures locked in a heartfelt embrace…?

The colours (black, reds, yellows, and green) correspond to the letters Z E S T in my mind. This piece was inspired by a desire to uplift myself during a tough time earlier this year. It's about seeking positive energy and rediscovering the zest for life I'd temporarily lost.

Sea of Opportunity
I was going through a period of personal transition and this painting symbolizes the new opportunities emerging amidst uncertainty. One morning, while making this piece, I struggled with a creative block so I decided to take a walk. Got caught in a downpour, after which a stunning rainbow was revealed. Somehow its perfect arc found its way into the artwork. It's a testament to the subconscious mind's ability to weave unexpected beauty into life's journey.

Heart of Gold
At times, individuals with inherently kind, compassionate, and generous dispositions may find themselves concealing these traits beneath a veneer of detachment as a means of self-preservation. In this portrayal, the cloak of aloofness is represented by deep blues, blacks, and rugged textures, serving as a shield against vulnerability. However, amidst this protective exterior lies a core of warmth and empathy, depicted at the centre, poised and ready to be extended and shared with others.
